Parag Sawhney is the founder and Managing Partner of Penn South Capital where he is responsible for identifying, negotiating and structuring Real Estate acquisitions & JV’s for the group. Having bought his first property in Manhattan at the end of the Great Recession, Parag has over a decade of experience successfully navigating through NYC zoning and building department code matters and rent law compliance. Besides being the lead sponsor in numerous deals, Parag has also mentored & coached several peers who have in turn accumulated hundreds of millions of assets in the NYC area. Parag has also consulted on valuing and underwriting one off and portfolio deals for bankruptcy attorneys and bridge lenders.

Prior to his current undertaking, Parag also founded a clothing apparel line that till date does several million dollars in annual turnover and is carried nationwide in big box discounters.

Parag started his career an Investment Banking Analyst with Citigroup where he advised Consumer and TMT companies on M&A and capital market transactions. Notable deals include Altria’s acquisition of UST for $11.7bn. Parag also had short stints at UBS’ Wealth Management Group and Deutsche Bank’s Securitized Products Group in New York while still attending school. Parag graduated Magna Cum Laude from NYU’s Stern School of Business with a concentration in Finance and Accounting.

Raymond Chera is a third generation real estate owner and developer. Having joined the firm in 2015, Raymond is a Managing Partner, where he leads property development, management and business operations. 

Prior to joining Penn South Capital, Raymond owned and operated a commercial real estate brokerage firm, specializing in the New York City Metropolitan area, he negotiated and signed leases with many national and regional tenants.

Raymond and his family have been instrumental in the revival of many urban areas throughout New York City. Most notably, the Chera family owns and manages several commercial properties near the Barclays Center within the Fulton Mall in downtown Brooklyn. The Fulton Mall boasts tenants that include H&M, Adidas, Century21, Nordstrom Rack, Armani, Banana Republic, Macys, Neiman Marcus Last Call, and Sephora.

With pillar commercial properties on Fordham Rd in the Bronx and Jamaica Avenue in Queens, Chera Realty has been pivotal in helping transform these once deteriorated neighborhoods in to some of the most frequently visiting shopping hubs in New York City.

Key Advisors 

Michael Edelman began his career at Tarragon Corporation in real estate development. After a brief stint with Tarragon, Michael was a commercial leasing broker at Cushman & Wakefield. He then became the COO/CTO at Maxwell Jacobs, a residential real estate brokerage. Most recently, he founded Concept Real Estate Group,  a full service real estate brokerage and technology firm. Michael has completed over 150 residential and commercial transactions in New York City and works as a resident manager for his investment clients. Michael’s family owns several large buildings in the New York area. 

In addition to his contributions to founding Penn South Capital, Michael is the CEO and Co-Founder of EMBE Global, a multi-national investment fund that owns and manages multiple startup projects.

Adam Greene oversees all legal matters for Penn South Capital.He is the youngest partner at Robinson Brog Leinwand Greene Genovese & Gluck P.C., a prestigious midtown law firm focused on real estate and bankruptcy matters. Adam regularly represents buyers, seller’s companies, and investors in strategic financial mergers and acquisitions, private equity financings, recapitalizations, and restructurings. He also advises early stage companies and investors in venture capital financings, serving as outside general counsel to emerging and established operating companies. Adam’s practice also includes representing parties in bankruptcy proceedings, including debtors, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees, asset purchasers from distressed companies, and lending institutions providing debtor-in-possession financing.  

Adam’s is a graduate of Lafayette College and earned his law degree at Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

David Goldoff is the founder of Camelot Real Estate Group, a real estate management and brokerage company based in New York City. Camelot manages approximately 30 mixed use and luxury condo buildings in New York City accumulating to over 200 apartments. David has extensive experience in all facets of real estate. His vast network of property management resources, ability to develop budgetary forecasts and overseeing interior renovations is an asset to Penn South Capital.

David has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and a Bachelor of Science degree for Real Estate from NYU.
